When people ask "What sort of music do you play?", the answer is never easy though we are getting better at describing the style: We think of ourselves as a melodic rock band, performing (mostly) original material, much of which is written in collaboration with each other.   Likewise, our live shows keep the audience. And keep them on their toes. That's all part of the fun! There's no guarantee what we're gonna do next. An original? A cover? American Rock? British soul? Bare-bones ballad? Something to dance to? We've got it all. We know how to adjust the set to keep it flowing. Our set list often goes out the window before the show has even started!         One music afficionado kindly wrote the following: ...Stillyano's music is not AOR...there are shades of the new century in the sound and melodies...create a new style label if necessary, don't use a very old one...	Our songs can be gentle sweeping ballads, the 6 and 12-string acoustics chime and jangle. Some are blistering rock numbers. The Strats, Burns and Peaveys prevail. Sometimes the piano takes the lead. Sometimes the Rhodes. Add to that the drum kit and the electric bass, And then there's vocals...  Harmonies abound. We write and play a mixture of styles. It has been said that the music is perhaps too diverse for today's market. We appreciate that. We also appreciate that not everyone wants to listen to a CD on repeat. Even when it's not.     We believe live music is about keeping it real, putting on a show and doing the best we can to entertain people. People who know what's what when it comes to music. And then, they can take home a CD that won't leave the stereo. Seriously. Due to the influences and varying tastes of each of the individual members, our music includes touches of many genres including country-rock, alternative and pop.
